distance — and yet let a cat’s hours and a human’s room faintly touch.
NEKO is not a stand on which to display a cat. It is a quiet dwelling that holds a cat’s day:
climbing, resting, hiding, gazing.
02 Origin
RINNから、カリモクへ。From RINN to Karimoku.
RINNが生んだ「Modern Cat Tree NEKO」は、キャットツリーの概念を変えました。天然大理石と広葉樹、そして猫という生きものへの深い敬意から成る、住まいのための彫刻です。
NEKO by Karimokuは、その思想と造形を受け継ぎ、カリモク家具の木工技術、量産品質、安全設計、そして修理・部品交換を前提とした長期供給の体制で、もう一度磨きなおしたフラッグシップです。復刻でも、委託生産でもありません。思想の続きを、別の手が引き受けるということです。
RINN’s Modern Cat Tree NEKO changed what a cat tree could be: a sculpture for the home,
built from natural marble, hardwood, and an unusual degree of respect for the animal it serves.
NEKO by Karimoku inherits that philosophy and form — and refines them anew through
Karimoku Furniture’s woodworking, production quality, safety engineering, and a long-term
system of repair and replacement parts. It is neither a reissue nor contract manufacturing.
It is the philosophy, carried forward by different hands.

光は、一日をかけて格子を渡る。Light crosses the lattice over the course of a day.
A structure made for a cat’s vertical life becomes, as it stands, part of the landscape of a home.
The lattice grants the cat its privacy; its gaps let a human gaze pass faintly through.
Part of the outer shell opens like a door, and the upholstered steps are designed to be removable —
so that daily care remains quiet and simple. Final specifications for care and replacement parts

Rods of equal diameter rise at equal intervals. As light crosses the lattice, a hidden outline
appears, then recedes. NEKO is designed not to decorate a room, but to appear and to disappear within it —
silhouette, gravity, proportion, and a shell that opens.
Hardwood rods — dense, quiet in grain, their edges softened by hand-finished sanding. Wood species and finish colours will be published here once confirmed.
A base of natural marble gently draws heat from a cat’s body, and lowers the centre of gravity of the whole. Wood of the East, stone of the West — two cultures meeting in a single dwelling. The specific stone will be published here once confirmed.
The steps where a cat entrusts its weight are upholstered in fine wool textile, designed to be replaceable. The specific textile will be published here once confirmed.

06 Craftsmanship
精度が、永く使う自由をつくる。Precision is what makes longevity possible.
Sanding, finishing, joinery, inspection. In Karimoku’s workshops, tradition is not nostalgia —
it works as modern, exacting production engineering. Designed from the outset for repair and
for replacement parts, NEKO is furniture meant to be kept and mended, not replaced.
